Passenger on Air New Zealand flight to Sydney suffers mid-air emergency

A mid-air emergency has been declared on an Air New Zealand flight bound for Sydney.

With just 45 minutes until it was due to land at Sydney International Airport, crew on flight NZ101 issued the alert at 8.08am on Thursday.

“A medical event took place on board flight NZ101 from Auckland to Sydney this morning,” an Air New Zealand spokesperson said in a statement.

“You’ll appreciate for privacy reasons, we are unable to share any further information.”
